WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Highway Engineer for our Tampa, Florida office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior level engineers in developing concepts and engineering solutions for a wide range of designs ranging from innovative roadway geometric design for intersections/interchanges to incorporating mass transit within our roadways (e.g., bus rapid transit (BRT), high speed rail, etc.)

  • Develop roadway and site plans, reports, and calculations

  • Develop designs and plans using MicroStation, Bentley's Open Roads Designer (ORD) Connect Edition and other software

  • Develop quantities, cost estimates, and specifications for construction projects

  • Work with team members on a wide array of projects and multiple assignments

  • Assist in the development of stormwater management plans, erosions and sediment control plans, reports, and calculations

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 1+ years experience in civil engineering, working on highway/roadway projects.

  • Experience with MicroStation and GeoPak

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT Registration

  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Experience on FDOT projects
