The Sustainability Program Lead (Planner 3) will provide advanced professional planning work in the area of sustainability. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of functions including design, review, and implementation of sustainability projects. Success in this role will initially be measured by your ability to help develop and implement a Sustainability plan for Pierce County. Your knowledge of sustainability practices and your ability to work with local, regional, and national partners as we seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will be key. You will lead a team of sustainability professional work to implementing sustainability priorities. You will be looked upon as the County’s sustainability liaison , and your ability to develop implementation strategies, research, develop plans, and communicate in writing and verbally will aide in your long-term success. Core Daily Responsibilities:Integrate sustainability into County plans, programs, policies and performance measures.Work cross departmentally as well as with local, regional, and national partners to develop strategies and initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Provide guidance and analysis to co-workers and community members on sustainability priorities.Lead implementation of County sustainability plan.Provides awareness of proposed sustainability standards, trends and technologies.Manage program development and implementationServe as subject matter expert for assigned Sustainability projects and programs.Provides consultation to County departments on sustainability matters.
