National Grid is seeking a Manager, Sales for our Commercial and Industrial Demand Side Management team. This poistion can be anywhere in New York state..

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for leading a team and overseeing the performance of the National Grid's (Company) New York (NIMO, KEDNY, KEDLI) Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Energy Demand Side Management (DSM) programs primarily focused on Gas and Electric Energy Efficiency (EE) programs. In partnership with internal and external partners, vendors and stakeholders, this role is responsible for the implementation of strategies and execution of programs ensuring the delivery of regulator goals and meeting Company objectives while delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

Manage the Program Delivery (implementation) and Sales Processing teams, overseeing the associated programs, systems, processes and customer engagement activities necessary to achieve assigned goals.
Lead, motivate and develop a professional team, prioritize work and allocate resources in order to ensure savings and budget results are delivered in line with expectations and customer/business objectives.
Engage with other Regional Counterparts on processes and best practices to assure continuous alignment of Program Management efforts with an emphasis on identifying and sharing best practices.
Deliver on assigned KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) such as program participation, productivity, budget management, continuous improvement activities and deliver results in accordance with program, Company and regulatory policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

Support and lead the teams in effectively collaborating with the NY CEM (Customer Energy Management), Commercial Sales and Solutions (CS&S) teams, as well as regional management and operations teams to deliver on system efficiencies and achievement of targets.
Optimize DSM programs and delivery mechanisms such as vendor, up/mid/down-stream programs to maximize earnings.
Coordinate with other verticals such as Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Street Lighting, Demand Response (DR) and Electrification (Heat-pump and Electric Vehicle (EV)) programs as well as the Residential Program Delivery teams to manage resources, budgets and maximize savings/earnings.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide timely information on progress against performance indicators to ensure they are managed in line with requirements.
Collaborate with Marketing teams to design and deliver program marketing, messaging, special events and new product launch campaigns that support brand, program awareness and influence lead generation activities.
Ensure adherence, monitor and control of resources, supporting best practices in planning, forecasting, and effective financial management of budgets that support commitments.
Participate in monthly Sales Process Hubs inclusive of key stakeholders including Strategy, Sales, Marketing; and EE Support functions that review program standings, forecasts, key process metrics, gaps, and improvement/gap closer action plans.
Work with relevant business units such as CEM, legal, policy, Customer Engagement and Data Analytics teams to translate program objectives into well-defined requirements with clearly defined business cases in order to support change, innovation and new product deployment.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

Develop strong internal team relationships with the appropriate stakeholders to develop and deliver solutions.


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Marketing or Energy/Business Management
7+ years Demand Side Management or 3+ plus years of direct Energy Efficiency experience; management experience preferred.
Solid understanding of key business drivers and external commercial environment
Experience of leading, inspiring and motivating an operational team.
Proven influencing skills, able to influence at senior level, internally and externally.
Proven ability to deliver results, identify and coordinate resources as needed.
Ability to conduct meetings or lead group discussions.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Must possess understanding of business, finance, engineering and technical concepts.
