Stony Brook Medicine (Stony Brook University Hospital) Medical Dosimetrist-Radiation Oncology (per diem) in Stony Brook, New York
At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Radiation Therapy Medical Dosimetrist is a valuable member of our team, who provides clinical services to our patient population. The Dosimetrist is expected to develop an expert radiation treatment plan in 2D/3D, IMRT, Rapid Arc and electron planning.

Duties of a TH Radiation Therapy Medical Dosimetrist in the Radiation Oncology Department may include the following but are not limited to:
Treatment Planning: Provide 2D/3D external and brachytherapy isodose plans for each patient receiving radiation treatments. Provide calculation of MU settings for patients.
Advanced Treatment Planning: Perform Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Treatment Planning (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) planning, and Gated Radiation Therapy; help draft clinical protocols for implementation of IMRT to different sites; collaborate with medical physicists with quality assurance work to ensure the treatment plans can be correctly delivered.
Quality Assurance and Treatment Delivery: Provides quality assurance in patient treatment setups including verification of accuracy of beam alignment, accuracy of treatment devices and equipment; quality assurance for the computerized treatment planning systems; provide assistance with in-vivo and in-phantom measurements for patient treatment; to assist in the fabrication of shields, masks, and casts-immobilization devices.
1 year experience or graduate of a JRCERT Accredited program
CMD or three or more years of experience
