Material Handler I 1st Shift (1550)

Responsibilities

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers by hand

• Pick and sort goods before loading or unloading boxes or trucks

• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information

• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.

• Stage materials in locations such as transit areas using pallets or cargo boards

• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets

• Record damage reports and maintain daily logs

• Install protective devices for bracing

• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected

• Maintain a clean workspace and move waste from production line and other areas to the dumpster

• Assist production line as needed to pack materials

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment

• wearing steel toe shoes

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 10 hours at one time

• Cycle Counting (1 year of experience is required)

• unloading trucks (1 year of experience is required)

• loading trucks (1 year of experience is required)

• Order Pulling (1 year of experience is required)

• RF Scanning (1 year of experience is required)

• Staging Pallets (1 year of experience is required)

• Time Management (1 year of experience is required)
