Clinics Position Type:Part-Time Anticipated Work Schedule:weekdays, some weekends Shift:Day Hrs/Pay Period:60 POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The interpreter will be responsible for facilitating daily cross-cultural communication between patients, family members and others, along with medical providers and staff. The interpreter will serve as a cultural and language resource person. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: 40 hours of interpreter training required Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Annual completion of department-required continuing education Active Status on the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bilingual fluency Reading and written fluency in both languages Basic computer skills Ability to remain flexible and maintain effective working relations with others in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates good time management skills in unpredictable settings Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment Understanding of advocacy boundaries, balancing objectivity and confidentiality Ability to plan, organize and prioritize daily interpreter schedule and tasks PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Some general college preferred Experience: Two years interpreting experience including one year medical interpreting experience preferred "> Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The interpreter will be responsible for facilitating daily cross-cultural communication between patients, family members and others, along with medical providers and staff.
