CITY OF ST LOUIS PARK Recreation and Facilities Supervisor in St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Primary Objective of Position: Coordinate recreation facility usage by marketing, scheduling, staffing and implementing events. Administer recreation programs for a variety of customer needs at The Rec Center campus and within the community. Provide outreach to create and deliver programming to underserved populations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coordinate facility usage for programs, meetings and events, including Rec Center banquet and meeting rooms, turf and dry floor space, and Westwood Hills Nature Center multipurpose rooms including outdoor rental facilities and other park facilities. - Market events and facilities via new avenues to encourage visitors to city facilities - Develop new events at recreation facilities to showcase space and maximize usage - Schedule events, reserve facilities, and work with staff to ensure effective event coordination from setup to clean-up, post-event evaluation and follow up. - Hire and supervise seasonal and part-time event staff. - Maintain records, usage statistics, revenue/expenditure and other documentation. 2. Plan, develop, administer, and evaluate recreation programs, athletic leagues, special events, instructional programs, camps and other programs. - Design, coordinate, and evaluate recreation programs. - Establish cooperative efforts with other agencies. - Research and implement new trends and techniques in recreation program activities. - Reach out to develop and administer programming to underserved populations. 3. Provide exceptional customer service in a courteous and helpful manner. - Ensure program information is kept up to date and publicized as necessary. - Keep groups updated on schedule changes, provide on-site supervision and act as point of contact during events. - Perform routine communication with public. Answer inquiries regarding programs, facilities, activities etc. 4. Supervise recreation staff and volunteers, conduct training, schedule staff, review performance, and assist in recruitment and hiring activities. - Perform safety-related activities including implementation of procedures, programs, inspections, and training for staff. - Implement volunteer service programs to ensure that adult volunteers working with youth programs are properly trained, evaluated and recognized for their work. 5. Maintain administrative records relating to expenditures, revenue, supplies, inventory, program registrations, and related documentation. - Direct the processing of program related purchase orders, requisitions, and monthly blanket purchase orders and reports status to supervisor. - Ensure programs are properly identified and registered. - Conduct inventory, maintain records, review revenues and expenditures, make recommendations for fees, assist with budget, and perform other work as needed. 6. Market recreation programs to customers by assisting with the creation and production of brochures, catalogs, bulletins, posters, and online media. 7. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. - Work a variety of hours as needed to provide service to customers. - Identify/evaluate vendor/consultant products or services. Obtain and review bids, quotes or proposals. - - Recommend selection of vendors for services. - Serve as a liaison to community groups as appropriate. - Perform other duties as assigned.
