The Boeing Company in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a motivated & experienced Project Engineer (Level 4) to support the F/A-18 and EA-18G programs. The selected candidate will be the single technical point of contact to the F/A-18 customer and Boeing leadership for various engineering changes. The candidate will also maintain technical management of the project by preparing project plans and measuring progress. It is expected that daily communication and coordination with the customer is a part of the battle rhythm.  Initial responsibilities will include managing components of the LSSI (the Life Support System Integration) program.  The candidate will be both the technical and programmatic focal for the supplier development of the hardware and will be responsible for integration between the supplier and the Boeing software team. 

Position Responsibilities:

Provides engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.

Acts as the technical lead for new hardware development:

Develops requirements, reviews supplier data, and ensures compliance to requirements

Manages hardware and software integration

Acts as the programmatic lead for new hardware development:

Integrates supplier and Boeing internal schedules; manages risks, issues, and opportunities; manages program cost

Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.

Responds to changes to the SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules. Leads project execution to complete the work statement.

Identifies performance metrics.

Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.

Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity. Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.

Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under minimal direction. 

Security Clearances: 

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) Secret U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

1 or more years Hardware development experience

1 or more years Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Avionics

and/or life support

system

development experience

Supplier development experience

Fighter aircraft design or development experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
