What You Will Get To Do:

As a ISSO on BEETHOVEN you will be working with a staff of 60 Operators, maintainers and engineers spread across two locations (Springfield, VA and Denver, CO) where you will be part of a real time operation providing special communications to users around the world. Operations are of the highest priority and you will be working with a team of professionals dedicated to the mission and seeing to it that the user is supported in every way. Critical thinking and the ability to resolve problems and interact and communicate across the team is essential. Familiarity with the NRO mission and organization is helpful as you will be working with various support organizations such as the communications directorate and various acquisition offices and contractors that deliver new capabilities on a routine basis.

More About This Role:

  • Draft, review, and update Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts required for Compliance.

  • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams to drive compliance with Security Controls and requirements.

  • Work with System Owners and controls assessors to draft achievable Plans of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms) to remediate findings Monitor and reporting on POA&M remediation activities.

  • Serve as a Point of Contact (POC) for cyber security questions Advise System Owners on cyber security best practices.

  • Provide clarification on cyber security policies and regulations.

  • Coordinate with Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams in support of account approvals.

  • Coordinate with O&M and Identity Credentials & Access Management (ICAM) teams to manage user authentication and management.

  • Coordinate with Security Engineering and O&M teams to identify and document systems.

  • Conduct technical evaluation of information system design, focusing on information security aspects and accreditation

  • Utilize various information system inspection tools to audit systems, analyze potential vulnerabilities and identify mitigation approaches

  • Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support accreditation and other program protection activities

  • Prepare and review program documentation to include Risk Assessment Reports, Accreditation Packages, and security policy guides

  • Coordinate with external organizations and guide accreditation packages through the customer process

  • Review requests for software installation and conduct technical risk assessment on implementation of the software

  • Work closely with system administrators to validate patching, AV definitions and other security tools are updated/not vulnerable

  • Coordinate and track security action requests and status

  • Assist contractors with facility designs to incorporate appropriate security features, conduct pre- accreditation inspections, and provide assistance in preparation of accreditation documents

  • Conduct periodic assessments of contractor facilities to ensure compliance with security requirements tailoring requirements as needed

  • Conduct weekly auditing requirements and analyze results

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience or Associate Degree and 9 years of relevant experience

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required to begin employment, and must be willing able to upgrade to higher level polygraph

  • Must have a CISSP certification, or able to successfully obtain your CISSP with within 6 months from your start date.

Required Skills and Experience:

Must have expertise with Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts required for Compliance.

Must have expertise with compliance of security controls and requirements.

Experience with Plans of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms)

Experience advising System Owners on cyber security best practices.

Experience providing clarification on cyber security policies and regulations.

Must have Operations and Maintenance (O&M) experience

Coordinate with O&M and Identity Credentials & Access Management (ICAM) teams to manage user authentication and management.

Experience conducting technical evaluation of information system design

Experience with various information system inspection tools

Experience with vulnerability/risk assessment analysis

Ability to prepare Risk Assessment Reports, Accreditation Packages, and security policy guides

Ability to guide accreditation packages through the customer process

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • The ability to work and communicate effectively with government project officers and senior leaders.

  • Experience with NRO and NGA Ground and space systems

  • Familiarity with the NSIS process

  • Familiarity of Spacecraft capable of image processing is desired

  • Good communication and briefing skills are highly desired.
