Purpose of PositionThe Shop Supervisor supervises the daily activities of the shop and warehouse to ensure safe and efficient work is being performed. This position supervises a program providing parts for repair and preventative maintenance service for a diversified fleet of automotive and other equipment, as well as develops, organizes, and directs personnel; supervises on-the-job training; and evaluates employees.Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions ASE Master Certification in automotive/light truck and medium/heavy truck categories is required. Must maintain a valid class A (CDL) Commercial Drivers License with air brakes, manual transmission, and fifth wheel authorizations, air conditioning and refrigeration recovery, and vehicle inspection mechanic. Vocational/technical training in heavy equipment mechanical repair and maintenance; three to five years heavy equipment repair experience, automotive, and related parts business; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages, fractions, and decimals.Ability to use functional reasoning in performing influence functions such as supervising, managing, leading, teaching, directing, and controlling.Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity required in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory and/or judgment criteria.Please visit the Greene County career portal for a full job description.
