How will you make an impact?
ETO (Enterprise Technology Organization) is part of the Global IT group in Thermo Fisher Scientific. ETO team is responsible for Applications and Systems that spans the enterprise like ERP's, Product Lifecycle Management, CPQ, CRM's, Middleware, Document Management and the Enterprise Data Platform that supports Data Science and Analytics.
As part of the ETO Leadership Team, the Sr Director for Enterprise ERP and PLM has full and global responsibility for all aspects of the Enterprise ERP and PLM strategy, roadmap, project delivery, costs and operations. The Sr Director ensures that what is delivered by the ETO ERP and PLM organization meets expectations in terms of schedule, budget, quality, ROI and meeting the requirements of our business operations. S/he will ensure that we have a vision and direction for ERP and PLM platforms that is aligned to and supporting our enterprise goals and objectives. S/he will oversee and guide a team of leaders in the effective delivery of ERP/PLM strategy, projects and operations. The role will include activities that spans ETO in regards to Strategy development, Goal tree, PPI and strategic programs.
What will you do?
Responsible for ensuring we deliver operationally reliable and optimally performing ERP and PLM platforms
Responsible for ensuring our ERP and PLM platforms meet our global business functional requirements
Ensuring we have a vision for ERP and PLM that is aligned to our long-term enterprise goals and objectives and overseeing the development of a strategy to support that vision
Working with our ETO LT, IT SLT and Business IT leadership stakeholders to gain broad alignment and investment to support the roadmap
Recognizing and planning for the external and internal factors that will drive adjustments to our business strategies and direction and ensuring that we're adjusting our ERP and PLM plans accordingly
Staying abreast of future technology trends that will impact ERP and PLM and ensuring these are factored into our business and ERP/PLM plans
Regularly benchmark our ERP/PLM cost, operational and functional KPI's to the equivalent industry KPI's
Ensuring the ERP/PLM teams are operating according to the overall IT and Enterprise principles, policies and culture
Engaged with key business stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their perspective on ERP/PLM delivery and what they need to be successful and factoring that into the ERP/PLM delivery
Work with IT and business leadership to influence their thinking on ERP/PLM capability and direction and ensuring all key IT and business are engaged and partnering effectively and regularly with ETO
Staying well connected on a daily basis on critical tactical challenges in project or operations delivery and ensuring the ERP/PLM LT have what they need to overcome those quickly and successfully
Building a culture of excellence, urgency and focus on customer in every aspect of ERP/PLM delivery
Taking the lead to work through conflict situations that reach an executive level
Developing a culture of continuous improvement in people, process and technology built around the Thermo Fisher PPI framework
Develop annual goals that are aligned to IT SLT and Enterprise goals that ensure we're focused on continuous improvement and business value
Ensure the ERP/PLM team is motivated, engaged and working towards positive business and customer outcomes
Ensuring we're effectively managing the business change management in the delivery of our ERP and PLM programs
Developing our talent so we've the right mix of skills and diversity for today's technologies and the emerging technologies that will develop in the ERP/PLM space
As required, leading special projects and ETO group level initiatives
Managing suppliers and vendors and negotiating large contracts
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other technical field is desired.
Fifteen years of professional experience managing and leading IT teams in large global enterprises
Experience leading teams in excess of 100 employees and contractors in multiple regions
Experience with SAP is a must and JDE is preferred
Experience with at least one PLM platform required
Experience with on premise, cloud hosted and SaaS/PaaS applications
Experience being responsible for overall external partner and vendor relationships
Experience in setting vision and direction and gaining executive alignment with the strategy
Experience being responsible for multi-million dollar budgets
Experience in negotiating large software contracts
Experience in leading and guiding a team that is balanced from a skills and diversity perspective
Experience in implementing a culture change and transformation of teams
Experience managing Enterprise Shared Services is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Embody executive presence and must have observable influencing skills
Ability to problem solve and work effectively in complex, ambiguous situations
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
Strong interpersonal and excellent presentation skills are a must
Demonstrate excellent problem solving, negotiating, conflict management and decision-making skills
Operate consistently with a sense of urgency and a 'can-do' attitude
Proven track record of driving productivity while maintaining or increasing quality
Proven track record of overseeing the successful implementation of large scale ERP/PLM programs
Knowledge of RPA, ML and AI required
Exposure to infrastructure, data science, CRM and digital domains
Strong business process knowledge required - Quote-To-Cash, Procure-To-Pay, Supply Chain, Finance, PLM, PDM
Good exposure to various software development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM development
Good knowledge of financial principals and processes
