Job Description: L3Harris Open Water Power is a rapidly-growing business pioneering power systems for underwater applications, vehicles and sensors. Our team of talented and curious engineers, scientists, and technicians are focused on bringing the power systems to market. Our work involves full design and development, ranging from fundamental science and chemical engineering to the manufacture and assembly of complete systems. We are looking for engaging, hands-on leadership to guide our team. Mentor and set design direction for the Mechanical Engineering team
Review designs for function, manufacturability, and cost
Support system tests and development
Troubleshoot and solve issues before, during, and after tests
Work with the OWP team to set prototype schedule and performance targets
Able to work simultaneously on a variety of projects.
Travel and work off-site at another location may be required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or other related discipline and 9+ years combined experience in engineering and leadership.
Experience having the autonomy to make or influence decisions.
Fluency using computer tools; experience using Solidworks and Solidworks simulation.
Ability to review classical calculations and interpret convergence data to validate FEA, thermal and CFD analysis results.
Must meet eligibility requirements to access U.S. Classified information
Capable of some domestic and international travel – 5%
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with power systems or underwater vehicles a plus.
Knowledge of Military Specifications preferred.
