As the,Site Manager,in Socorro New Mexico, Serco-NA, in conjunction with the newly formed United States Space Force (USSF) you will be responsible for tracking all man-made objects in orbit.
This mission is vital to keeping existing satellites safe and to provide critical information to organizations launching new satellites in the future. One of the assets USSF uses to accomplish this mission is the Ground-based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) System.
This optical sensor is employed at three (3) different locations around the world (White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory; and Maui, Hawaii) and helps track the objects in deep space orbit (altitude of 10,000 to 45,000 km).
Come join the team that provides this service to United States. You will help operate and maintain three (3), one-meter telescopes equipped with highly sensitive digital cameras. You’ll respond to Government tasking to obtain metric observations of specific objects daily and help maintain the sensors, support equipment, and the facility that houses it at Detachment 1, 21 st Operations Group (21OG), Stallion Range Center, Socorro, New Mexico.
As the,Site Manager, in Socorro New Mexico you will take on the role of Site Manager, responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a the GEODSS System.
As the, Site Manager, in Socorro New Mexico, you will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities (include but is not limited to):
Manage and direct operations, maintenance and support activities providing 24x7 support for all mission functions at the site.
Provides guidance and direction to staff personnel, subcontractors, and all site personnel in executing site operations and maintenance.
Monitor daily site activities and performance to assure all contract requirements are achieved; ensure all required reports are completed and delivered on time.
Assists in developing and administer policies and procedures regarding operations, maintenance, and personnel.
Support Government conferences, meetings, and performance reviews; maintain open customer communications.
Assure continuous, uninterrupted mission operations and maintenance during all Force Protection and Defense Conditions.
Validate and implement training and development of site employees in conjunction with the GEODSS Training Coordinator to assure personnel maintain technical competence.
Participate in System Requirements and Change Management boards.
Requirements, Qualifications, Education, Experience:
Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance, Top Secret Preferred
Must be DoD 8570 Compliant IAT Level II Certification (Security+ or better).
BS in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related discipline (desired).
Must have 10 - years' in management of complex technical operations and maintenance functions, personnel supervision and 24x7 operations.
Experience operating optical sensors is desirable.
Knowledge of the space surveillance network and satellite catalog is desirable.
- PMI Institute Project Management Professional, ITIL Foundations and/or Lean Six Sigma certification desirable.
