Citigroup Relationship Associate - Financial Institutions in Singapore, Singapore

Financial Institutions (“FI”) spearheads and manages all Citi’s business relationships with financial institutions. These include Banks, Broker Dealers, Insurance companies, Asset Managers, Fintechs etc. FI is one of the three pillars of Citi’s corporate banking franchise. Relationship Bankers in FI perform the role of Parent Account Manager for parent-level client groups headquartered in Singapore and play the role of Subsidiaries Account Manager to the Singapore subsidiaries/branches of client groups headquartered outside Singapore.

The Relationship Bankers collaborate actively with risk, legal and compliance partners and various product teams (e.g., TTS, Markets, Securities Services, IBD and CMO) to serve our clients’ holistic and diverse needs and to deliver our platform and customized and innovative solutions.

The Relationship Analyst (RA) will work closely with the Relationship Managers to build and sustain customer relationships and to grow our share of wallet by supporting the Relationship Managers on major deals and facilitate smooth implementation to enhance client on-boarding experience .

Job Purpose:

  • As RA, you will coordinate and address a broad range of client related work with Bankers delivering best in class services, and handling a significant volume of day-to-day requests / issues from internal partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior bankers to provide overall relationship management support on major deals execution and client on-boarding, documentation, KYC, service / issue escalations, credit facilities, pricing.

  • Respond to ad-hoc client requests in collaboration with bankers.

  • Perform investigations on financial and operational issues, including those relating to credit, foreign exchange, cash management and trade services, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.

  • Manage daily overdrafts in accordance with the credit control process; work with client on the funding arrangement for any excesses over approved limits or to flag for internal credit approvals

  • Manage Credit Risk Availment (CRA) - operations memo referrals and any approval requests raised by the Operations

  • Participate in new initiatives/ad-hoc projects to improve work efficiency and processes

  • Manage a portfolio of inflow maintenance clients as relationship manager

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Knowledge/Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial institution or large corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Banking business including related products (TTS, Markets, Custody, SFS, CMO), pertinent regulations and the lending and credit approval process

  • At least 3-5 years banking experience in Corporate Banking Front Office, Customer Service or Operations are preferable

  • Sound business and risk judgement and respect for compliance and controls.

  • Good knowledge of credit facilities.
