Location: Tuas Plant
Department: Plant Engineering
You will provide control system support for a wide variety of automated process equipment that is used to manufacture 3M products.
Technical assistance to maintenance personnel for diagnosing, troubleshooting, determining root causes of failures and eliminating equipment problems.
Work includes an emphasis on programming in a wide variety of formats specific to individual supplier’s control hardware.
Provide design, installation, commissioning support for control engineering project work involving equipment retrofitting and upgrading. Maintain effective cost and schedule controls on assigned projects.
Ensure all documentations and drawings are updated and ready for use as required by company standards.
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives as related to equipment operations and practice safe work habits.
The work requires close co-operation with a team inclusive of Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, System Techs and sub-contractors to accomplish high quality work.
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 2 years of working experience in manufacturing or Diploma in Electrical /Electronic Engineering or equivalent with 5 years working experience in manufacturing
Knowledge and Skills required
Hand-on experience in PLC / HMI programming. Preferably Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Siemens and Wonderware control system hardware and software.
Experience with Industrial networks, AC/DC drive systems, Servo Drives, Robotics, Vision system, Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and understand Electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, Pneumatic diagrams, Panel assembly diagram, Maintenance documents (i.e. work instructions, safety rules, etc.).
Ability to apply and maintain a variety of control technologies, including AC/Servo motor control, data acquisition, digital / analog systems, PID control and systems integration.
Proficient in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and calibrate systems / devices used in the control and measurement.
Must be detailed oriented, flexible, organized, team player and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of process industry safety system and practices.
