Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices is looking for a Director, Velys RAS Education Solutions covering Asia Pacific to be based in Singapore.

Reporting to the Senior Director Education Solutions Asia Pacific, the role will:

  • deliver sustainable launch success across our digital surgery portfolio through driving competence and confidence in our sales organisations via market leading commercial education

  • drive the safe and effective use of all robotic and procedural solutions via market leading professional education as well as defined Centres of Excellence (COE).

  • lead the Franchise Education Solutions Team for Velys RAS comprising of a professional education manager, commercial education manager and nominated education coordinator(s) and clinical trainers.

  • have full responsibility for developing the franchise education as well as customer experience strategy for Velys RAS and executing the education programs resulting from the combined education and marketing strategy.

These programs will build capability across the entire franchise sales and cross functional teams including product and procedure knowledge, selling skills as well as capital selling skills, FST capability and Sales Manager coaching skills. As the APAC representative of the GES global governance infrastructure, this role will lead the Velys brand identity and delivery including systems and platform deployment aligned to global GES strategy. There will be full responsibility for developing and leading the frameworks across professional and commercial education to align with the global and regional governance, with a dotted line to the global governance structure. Success will be measured against the delivery of the knowledge competency targets (commercial education) by portfolio and related sales activity (i.e. NPI), plus management of the overall franchise CME budget and activity. This role will lead the APAC DPS Prof Ed Managers and Coordinators responsible for the planning, preparation and execution of all Professional Education events resulting from the Annual Needs Assessment and Business Planning process.

There will be responsibility for managing lead key KOL relationships at a local, regional and global development level and will be responsible for ensuring all courses and engagements meet our JNJ Compliance standards (HCC and HCBI), internal event management process and that the associated metrics are reported to the franchise LT and the Global/Regional Education Leadership Team.

In addition this role will have full responsibility for the design and set up of all relevant Digital Surgery Customer Experience (CoE) Centres for APAC. To include :

  • Full suite of hands on and virtual/hybrid capabilities

  • Scoping and piloting of tele-mentoring capability

  • Co-ordinating all relevant evidence generation and research activities

  • Setting up and continually evaluating collaborative innovation workstreams within each COE

This role will be part of the ASPAC Education leadership team as well as the global Velys GES team


  • Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, Education

  • Possess related industry experience in Medical Devices Sales, Commercial Education, Professional Education and knowledge of MTAA Code of Practice, Event Management, Project Management

  • Industry, Product and Procedural knowledge in Orthopaedics/general surgery sub specialties is desirable as well as experience in digital surgery and/or surgical robotics. Experienced people leadership/mentoring and knowledge of compliance processes. Budget management and strong project management
