Our challenge is for a forward-thinking inspiring leader to guide our Innovation & Development team in developing and bringing new, innovative and increasingly digital innovation and services to men around the world.

You are responsible for

Define the Grooming & Beauty innovation strategy for our Shenzhen office, and the perfect execution of the innovation roadmap, to achieve our short and long term business ambitions. The roadmap covers front-end innovation, sophisticated development and product realization.

Lead the organization.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader, who will engage with senior partners across our business and craft our culture to have an expanded appetite for risk and rapid experimentation.

In more detail, you will be:

  • Establishing a culture of trust, creativity and experimentation - where engineers feel encouraged to go off the beaten track and try out new methods;

  • Refreshing and establishing our networks with relevant players (e.g. ecosystem collaborations, scientific external relations). Actively using this network to obtain input on technological developments, identifying trends and opportunities.

  • At the same time, you work on the Innovation Roadmap for our business with senior partners (Business, Marketing and Innovation Leads) – finding a healthy balance between challenging validated methods and infusing new insights;

  • Ensuring an inclusive and inspiring working environment by mentoring engineers towards growth and unlocking their innovation power;

  • You collaborate with the rest of the Management Team to determine objectives, processes and budget in such a way that an innovative climate and entrepreneurship are stimulated;

  • Making Grooming & Beauty future-proof by managing department capabilities and introducing new technologies & innovation approaches (e.g. ensuring that adequate resources, tools and technology architecture are in place)

You are a part of

You will join the Grooming & Beauty business and be part of the Innovation team. You will be based in Shenzhen with frequent travel to the Headquarter (Amsterdam) and other (global) innovation sites.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in a technical domain;

  • At least 10 years of shown experience in a related industry;

  • Proven affinity with managing innovation in a business environment, leading several professional teams in different technological areas;

  • Display strong market, content and technology knowledge – combined with a healthy portion of curiosity and risk-appetite;

  • Expert knowledge of product development for consumer propositions and/or medical consumer propositions;

  • Business Acumen and strong Business Partnering Skills;

  • Effective Communicator and relationship builder/ networker;
