Senior Manager SEA, Environment - Chemicals & Wastewater Management
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The management of chemicals in multi-layer supply chain is complex and challenge, therefore we need to work in wider spectrum and collaboratively with various stakeholders such as chemical experts, industry association, to drive changes and identify the opportunities for further improvement.
The purpose of this role is to support Director, Social and Environmental Affairs (SEA) to manage end to end chemical management matters and issues in SEA. The role is fast paced, highly collaborative and operates within a dynamic work environment that demands agility and flexibility.
As the Chemical & Wastewater champion, drive and execute chemical/wastewater policies and standard to our global supply chain partners and business partners by defining the methodology or process and setting measurable outcomes.
Provide technical advisory to relevant internal stakeholders on chemical management practice and/or alternatives that fulfill adidas requirement
Provide technical advice to suppliers on how to improve their chemical/wastewater performance in the event of any compliance breaches and drive continuous improvement.
Ensures facilities understand and fulfill adidas chemical management compliance and working towards to targets.
Analyze the performance indicators to track supplier performance and provide business partners with clear summary on supplier performance under his/her coverage.
Identify the areas of risk and provide recommendations in respect of those risks, based on legal obligations, strategic commitments and/or SEA requirements
Identify training needs of in the supply chain and provide training and conduct regular advisory to ensure suppliers meet reporting deadlines in the sustainability systems.
Engage with chemical suppliers/chemical industry experts to support the implementation of chemical policy in our supply chain
Guide and support environmental team to roll out adidas Chemicals Management Programme in key countries.
Raise internal awareness and knowledge about adidas Chemical management policies and requirement.
Participates in relevant industry external engagements and contribute the development of industry standard.

Engage in dialogue with third parties, including NGO, Government bodies and professional institutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Strong project management knowledge and experience, including developing and maintaining project plans, providing regular communication, coordination, problem resolution and undertaking budget administration.
Strong business acumen and superior quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
Proven ability to develop business cases, including financial implications for environmental investments
Strong team player with proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve goals and objectivesand ability to work independently as well as in team setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex information in a simple, easily understood to diverse groups of stakeholders
Proven ability to interact with all levels, partnering, facilitating, and influencing and utilizing internal and external resources
Strong written and verbal English, any other regional (Asia Pacific) language is a plus
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years’ experience in managing chemical/ wastewater management aspects in apparel or footwear industry, with footwear knowledge is preferred
Within which 3 years of relevant project leadership, and stakeholder management experienceProven people and team management skill (at least 3 years)
Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
