Job Description

This position will support the 45th Test Squadron Mission Planning Systems Test Flight located at Eglin AFB, FL. You could be the critical missing piece to our team!

  • Be familiar with the configuration, management and troubleshooting of computer systems, including knowledge of installation of software and applications.

  • Will assist in designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer systems.

  • Will assist in building, configuring, and managing the computer systems to support all test activities.

  • Create and manage system user accounts in accordance with Air Force Materiel Command policies and directives.

  • Manage backups, respond to trouble tickets, and write scripts to automate processes.

  • Provide other system administrator duties such as booting and shutting down a system, mounting file systems, and scheduling test resources.

  • Under supervision will install and configure computers, and hardware, and perform operating system upgrades.

  • Under supervision will perform installation and configuration of software and applications, including anti-virus and back-up software.

  • Support test planning meetings and test plan working groups.

  • May attend meetings as necessary to provide briefings, information, and/or technical support.

  • Will assist with designing and employing test automation tools and utilities during test execution.

  • Under supervisor will support certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration.

  • Occasionally require lifting items up to 50 lbs.

  • Travel to TDY locations (CONUS and OCONUS) to execute hardware setup, hardware troubleshooting, deficiency reporting, and deficiency verification and recommendations.

  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and Configuration Management of the hardware/software.

  • Must be qualified and able to travel to worldwide sites, as required.

Required Experience

One of the following combinations is required: Bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years of applicable experience -OR- Associate’s Degree and 4 years of applicable experience -OR- HS Diploma or Equivalent and 6 years of applicable experience.

  • US Citizenship. SECRET Clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance.

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team.

  • Understanding of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting hardware/software is required.

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain DOD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (Security+CE) within 3 months of hire date.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current and Active TOP SECRET Clearance

  • Knowledge of the system software development lifecycle, network services, architecture, configuration, and security methods is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of Information Technology systems analysis and application software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient enough to evaluate emerging technologies in a development environment is highly desired.

  • Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications highly desired.
