SUMMARY The Early Head Start Home Visitor plans and directs the educational and related activities for families in the EHS Home Based Program, works closely with parents and other program staff and performs related duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan and direct Home Based individualized Family/Child educational curricula with meaningful educational opportunities for infants and toddlers and related activities. Complete Developmental Screenings and Assessments on assigned children. Review each child s progress with parents. Use child assessment information and observations to guide parents in planning and implementing home visit activities and follow-up home activities. Carry a caseload of ten families. Visit each home weekly for a minimum of one and one-half hours each throughout the program year. Plan and conduct two group socializations each month. Familiarize families with all components of the Early Head Start Program. Maintain open communication with parents and program staff to ensure complete services for each child. Maintain open communication with Outreach Coordinators to insure delivery of appropriate social services to families. Attend Agency and Head Start meetings/trainings, interagency meetings and community events as assigned. Maintain up-to-date activity sheets and home visit reports. Submit monthly reports in an accurate and timely manner.
