South Dade Air Conditioning Concrete Mason / Concrete Finisher in Selma, Alabama
South Dade Air Conditioning (SDAC) seeks to employ 15 Concrete Finishers / Concrete Masons (Finishers and Masons) with a start start date of Apil 1, 2021 and end date of December 3, 2021 with a worksite address of 910 Landline Rd, Selma, AL 36701, and work to also be completed in Lee, Pike, Montgomery, Autauga, and Marengo counties in AL. Expected work schedule of M-F 8:00am 4:00pm, but schedule is dependent on weather conditions due to the nature of work. Regular Pay: $17.76; OT: $26.64 if applicable by law. Workers must understand specific types of concrete pours and the ability to understand blue prints and figure grades. Must be able to use basic math to figure elevation grades and use a tape measurer. Basic carpentry skills required. Workers will be required to establish, grade, setup form boards, pour and finish concrete. Wil need to pour flatwork, slabs, and structural concrete types. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, and must understand figure grades. Must be able to perform basic carpentry tasks. Will use standard tools associated with these duties including but not limited to shovel, rake, concrete pull, hand tamp, hammers, drills, sledgehammers, nail gun, saws, prybars, levels, tape measurers, concrete vibrators, screed boards, jack hammers, air compressors, and generators. May also require the use of concrete hand trowels, hand floats, edgers, jointer, bull float, Kelley trowel, concrete broom, and curb trowels. Motorized equipment may include walk behind trowel machines, ride-on trowel machine, plate tamp, demolition saw, mini excavator, skid steer, and power buggy. All tools and equipment will be provided to workers at no cost/charge to the workers. Training is not provided, and workers must have at least 3 months experience in this specific field.Employees may expect to receive pay once every two weeks, typically on Friday at the end of the workday. A single workweek will be used for computing wages due. Employer will make all deductions from paychecks that are required by law, and no other deductions. As applicable, the employer will reimburse in the first work week all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, as mandated by the government and not exceeding the mandated reimbursements. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts.The employer does not offer board, lodging, or other facilities, but will try to assist employees with finding lodging if needed.
