Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) enables customers of all sizes to run their applications on our industry leading cloud infrastructure. Customers around the world rely on EC2 to provide elastic, high performance, secure and cost effective resources to scale their infrastructure to keep up with their changing business needs.We are seeking a Sr. Product Manager who is passionate about technology and cloud computing to join the EC2 Pricing and Economics (PAE) team. In this role you will be responsible for defining and managing the pricing strategies for EC2's portfolio of offerings. The role involves researching trends, identifying product and feature gaps that impact the value our customers derive from our services, and applying pricing concepts to author pricing strategy recommendations that will be reviewed by AWS' senior leadership team.You will be surrounded by people who are smart, passionate about cloud computing, and believe that world class support is critical to customer success. Every day will bring new and exciting challenges on the job while you:* Work closely with economists, business development, engineering teams, and other PMs to solve complex problems* Research customer and business data to derive actionable insights and implement mechanisms to drive business benefit from these insights* Develop strategies, guidelines, and frameworks for pricing EC2 offerings* Author business narratives that detail pricing recommendationsCandidates who are a fit for the job will:* Have a passion for technology, developer-focused products, and work on behalf of their customers* Are creative, "big thinkers;" adept at connecting the dots and identifying simple solutions to complex problems* Have a solid understanding of economics and pricing concepts* Have an instinctive understanding of a good product, and can raise the bar on customer-focused thinking among team members with reasoned, data-driven analysis* Can dive into technical details and ask engineers insightful questions about the services and dependencies you influence* Can think long-term, balance conflicting interests, and converge on outcomes that earn trust and customer loyaltyBasic Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, math, or equivalent experience in a related field* 5+ years of business development, investment banking, management consulting, or product management experience* Experience solving complex, quantitative business challenges* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including senior executives* Must be able to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities* Bias for action and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment* Attention to detail and end-to-end ownership* Ability to establish credibility and work with key internal partners to get things done* Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
