Our Legal Intellectual Property (IP) team helps the company protect, enforce and report on its IP assets. As the IP teams senior corporate paralegal, you will collaborate with attorneys on the IP team, inventors, and senior engineering leadership to capture and protect the companys innovations, support the business with special projects and reporting relating to its IP portfolios, maintain the companys IP portfolio records, and support IP litigation.Primary Responsibilities: Maintain electronic and hardcopy patent and trademark files/records.Run reports on company's IP assets.Generate monthly, quarterly and annual IP/budget reports.Liaison with outside IP prosecution and litigation counsel.Manage document signings, record keeping and support in-house prosecution attorney.Provide litigation support (e.g., legal holds, discover, witness meetings, etc.).Run inventor incentive award program reports.Collaborate with marketing/branding team and outside counsel to file, prosecute and maintain company trademarks, including gathering trademark use specimens and related materials.Coordinate and schedule internal patent committee and attorney disclosure meetings.Collaborate with RandD leads, engineers and patent liaisons across the business to confirm product release dates and other relevant information.Keep internal patent asset management tool current and drive tool enhancements.Maintain internal and external IP reporting sites, including patent marking and trademark lists.Perform other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of US and international patent, trademark and copyright protection laws, rules and procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to effectively convey ideas and messages both formally and informally, in speaking and in writing.Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, quickly learn new information, and work well under pressure handling confidential matters with discretion.Ability to learn from others by sharing, listening to, seeking out and respectfully consider diverse ideas, perspectives, experiences and approaches from others.Ability to understand F5s business and technology, demonstrating passion for own role and contributions.Experience:Minimum 5 years of specific IP paralegal support in a corporate environment, including patents, trademark and copyright (open source a plus).
