We are seeking a Lab Assistant III, Research GMP to join Seattle Children's. The successful candidate will provide support to the Therapeutic Cell Production Core (TCPC) GMP facility and Quality control lab. This role will assist with general laboratory maintenance, GMP documentation maintenance, and other critical activities in support of GMP manufacturing and testing of cell products.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain working cell lines using proper sterile technique.

  • Assist in maintaining TCPC equipment management program, including performing equipment cleaning, monitoring (equipment QC), and assisting in preventative maintenance efforts.

  • Perform Environmental Monitoring in the clean room classified spaces.

  • Ensure cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of orderly work environment in the QC lab and GMP clean room suites; maintain and distribute clean equipment and glassware.

  • Assist in material management program including receiving materials, tracking material receipt in appropriate database(s), maintaining current clinical material/reagent inventory, and completion of supporting GMP documentation.

  • Assist in transport of research and/or clinical samples to SCH, other SCRI campus, etc.

  • Assist with Quality control and Manufacturing support activities as assigned.

  • Operate and maintain appropriate records to ensure GLP compliance (QC lab) and GMP compliance (cleanroom).

  • Participate in team meetings

  • Assist others especially when workload is high or in response to short staffing.

  • Comply with Laboratory and Research Institute policies and procedures.

  • Maintain continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Education/Experience:

  • AA Degree or some college coursework in chemistry, biology, etc., and/or related experience in a laboratory.

  • Familiarity with research laboratory environments.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Immunology, etc.).
