Amazon EC2 is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Amazon EC2 has become one of the fastest growing and most strategic suite of products in the AWS portfolio. Read more about the business at: https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/This position will develop and improve financial models to aid in decision making for EC2 with a focus on fleet efficiency projects. This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across Amazon, including Fleet Management, Product Management, Engineering, Capacity Management, Data Center Operations, Supply Chain and other AWS products to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the EC2 businesses.This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong communication and business partnering skills, financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.Key responsibilities:* Serve as the key finance partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations* Understand hardware generational changes and general business economics to develop financial models* Taking the lead in managing costs, building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance* Report on financial performance and lead in the preparation of biweekly and annual financial reviews, identifying financial risks and opportunities* Own and drive projects during planning and forecasting cycles* Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior managementBasic Qualifications* BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent. Professional licenses or certifications (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA) may be preferred or required based on role. Professional licenses or certifications may take place of a bachelor's degree based on role needs.* Minimum 7 years of finance experience, OR master's degree and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
