The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Flight Test Engineer to join our test team as a Test Director performing developmental and certification testing of commercial airplanes and military derivatives.

The team operates primarily out of Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington with some testing in Everett and Renton, as well as occasional testing at various domestic and international sites for up to 2-4 weeks at a time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating across a broad spectrum of individuals and disciplines

  • Developing plans for upcoming testing

  • Briefing and conducting ground and flight testing on board the aircraft and debriefing the test

  • Evaluating test results and working to resolve any issues encountered.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experienced leading a diverse test team during the brief, test conduct, and debrief of flight tests

  • 3+ engineering experience

  • Experienced participating as a test team member, flying on board the aircraft during maneuvering flight

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Three years of experience as a Test Director/Test Conductor supporting a major aircraft development and certification flight test program

  • Graduate of a Test Pilot School as a pilot or engineer, or equivalent experience

  • Operational Risk Management and Crew Resource Management skills

  • 5+ engineering experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
