Mortenson has built a reputation for being a leader in our industry and in the communities in which we live and work.As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will assist journeyman and foreman carpenters in the completion of their tasks while learning the trade.ResponsibilitiesSet up trailersBuild decks, stairs, roofs and other temporary structures between office units, plan tables, install shelves, setup tool trailers and/or conex’s, per planHand-set forms and/or assemble the gang formsAssist journeyman and foreman with the shooting of grades and elevationsThe unloading, handling, stockpiling, and erecting of all pre-fabricated materialsConcrete and rough carpentryHand set WallsFootingsGang Wall FormsStructural Concrete DecksIn wall and roof blockingFinish Carpentry, including doors, frames, and hardwareAll other duties as assignedAll team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:Cooperate with others when in a team environmentAccept direction from supervisorsFollow work rules and proceduresPunctual and consistent attendanceAccept constructive feedbackQualificationsWorks within precise limits or standards of accuracyPictures solid objects from drawings or diagramsRequires some ability to read plansAbility to frequently sit, stand, walk crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbsMust be able to operate equipment such as: table saw, radial arm saws, belt and disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging and form systemsStrong teamwork orientationPositive attitude and professional customer service skillsDetail orientation EducationA high school diploma or GED is preferredEnrolled in apprenticeship programPrevious experience on a construction site is preferred but not required EEO is the LawMortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
