Fortive Corporation Application Engineer in Schenectady, New York

We are seeking an Application Engineer to have a global impact on Anderson-Negele applications team success. In this role, you will be able to delight customers by helping them select the right products with your product expertise and staying close to customers to understand their needs through new and existing products.

In this role: • Plan and develop high-value tools and content that enable rapid self-service product and application selection for customers, field sales and distribution. • Drive product lifecycle process coordinating details like document creation (ie. Product manuals) & distribution, sustainment activities (i.e. VAVE support), obsolesce, approvals, sign offs and special projects as needed • Identify content gaps and develop marketing plans for assigned products to drive growth. • Partner with marketing team to develop and promote/publish content that drives product line demand generation. Content types include brochures, videos, case studies, infographics, articles, blog posts, etc. • Develop product training, promotion & approve pricingwithin product management rules for sales & distribution. • Evaluation of inquiries. Recommend product or define prototypes requirements, coordinate & consolidate scope of work to complete customer projects, set pricing for profitable growth. • Actively work with field sales, independent representative/distributors to close new business with large OEM customers. Provide support after sales to these large accounts when needed. • Develop special order pricing per market expectations and established profit margins; assist in establishing determinations and minimum margin requirements. • Keep current and consolidate information on competition, market pricing, key customer requirements, market conditions and general business climate; participate in pertinent trade association and related activities. • Partner with product management and engineering to draft and prioritize detailed feature requirements for new products and updated features on existing products for assigned product lines. • New product launch planning including website, marketing materials, and readiness of the business to support product commercialization • Contribute to market analysis, forecasting for customer & market driven projects under development as needed. • Project management work may be required. Projects can be customer and/or market based. • Maintain a high level of productivity and morale. • Travel up to 25% required • Other duties as assigned

On your first day, we’ll expect that you’ll have: • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or or other technical degrees • 1-3 years of technical sales or engineering experience

Our location: This role is remote! However we have three locations in Fultonville, NY - Spartanburg, SC and Egg, Germany!
