POSITION: ORDER WRITER/SERVICE COORDINATORDEPARTMENT: Fleet OperationsSALARY RANGE: $40,043 - $66,070APPLY BY: March 31, 2021Chatham County Fleet Operations has an immediate need for an Order Writer/Service Coordinator. Your Associate's Degree and two (2) years' of experience are what we need.Job Summary: Under supervision, this role manages the daily workflow of vehicles, equipment maintenance, and service repairs. You will coordinate the county preventive maintenance program, perform preventive maintenance inspections of vehicles and equipment, enforce schedule of preventive maintenance activities, and determine service intervals on all vehicles and equipment. You will also perform general maintenance tasks necessary to maintain tools and equipment in operable condition. In addition, you must monitor outside vendor's performance to ensure timely and satisfactory completion. Your excellent customer service skills are needed as you will greet customers to receive and write up orders for repairs, monitor progress, and assure proper and timely completion. You will ensure correct ordering, receipt of parts, and charges on invoices. In this role you will also provide advice, guidance, and technical expertise to staff and customers. Other duties may be assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Automotive Technology or Fleet Management or related field; and two (2) years' experience and/or training involving vehicle maintenance and repair shop administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to operate a computer and work order system. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possess ability to diagnose general and complex mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair actions. Possess knowledge of garage operation, vehicle and standard equipment safety rules, techniques and procedures. Possess effective oral and written communication skills. Note: During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
