AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Design Engineer supporting our work with the Georgia Ports Authority, one of the largest and fastest growing ports in North America. As a Civil Design Engineer, working with the Ports & Marine group, you may be involved designing civil marine infrastructures including marine terminals, RORO, waterfront structures, container yards, intermodal rail, utilities, roadways, and asset maintenance engineering.

Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, and erosion and sediment control design, using Civil 3D.
Collaborates with larger design team, and responsible for design of assigned project elements to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
Performs specific portions of project with limited oversight from senior staff.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations
Proposes approach to solve problems encountered and identifies discrepancies in results.
Read and apply design codes.
Gathers, correlates, and analyzes data using field investigations and research
Preparation of all associated calculations reports, spreadsheets, and construction cost estimating
Applies engineering principles
Technical support during construction including review of contractor’s submittals and shop drawings for conformance to design documents.
Assists with the coordination, communication, documentation and archiving project activities.
Participate in construction progress meetings and construction site visits.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Assist with development of presentations and report submittals
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar discipline
4 plus year experience in civil engineering infrastructure design
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to quickly attain
Valid US Driver’s License
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, and AutoTURN or similar industry applications

Professional Engineering (PE) License
Experience in civil infrastructure design and construction
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Strong sense of project ownership
