We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Supply Chain organization as a Senior Supply Chain Specialist from Kite’s global headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. The Specialist is responsible for managing projects and leading a cross-functional team to establish new materials and new suppliers for Kite’s supply chain. The Incumbent will also manage change control for the projects, facilitate effective communication and stakeholder updates, and partner broadly across sites and functions to ensure efficient implementation of projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities of the Senior Supply Chain Specialist – Procurement Excellence and Change Control:

  • Develops and ensures delivery of End to End Sourcing Resiliency projects in alignment with program, Governing Body (Global Raw Material Council) and Tech Ops Strategy and Goals

  • Drives cross-functional New Material and New Supplier project teams and manages deliverables to meet deadlines

  • Supports team members and empowers them to complete deliverables efficiently and effectively

  • Enables quick and robust decision making through effective communication

  • Organizes and manages project team meetings, ensuring timely, efficient, and action-oriented operations

  • Works in partnership with project lead and functional leads, to develop, identify risks and opportunities, implement corrective actions and execute on the project plan and strategy

  • Implements best-in-class project management processes and tools/templates such as project schedules, Gantt charts, action/decision logs, risk registers, communications plan, group sharing site etc.

  • Supports external collaboration and associated interactions (e.g. meetings, communications etc.) with the partners as necessary

  • Works in partnership with project lead and functional leads to generate, drive, and close Change Control records in Oracle Agile for New Material and New Supplier changes

  • Develops, deploys, and supports the optimization of business processes and tools to improve efficiency and advance stakeholder interactions

  • Provides effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams and proactively update stakeholders and sponsors on progress and issues (e.g. project dashboards, reporting)

Basic Qualifications:

MS / MA degree with 3+ years of Supply Chain and/or Procurement and/or Project Management and/or Operations experience

OR

BS / BA with 5+ years of Supply Chain and/or Procurement and/or Project Management and/or Operations experience

OR

High School Degree with 9+ years of Supply Chain and/or Procurement and/or Project Management and/or Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and resolving conflicts related to meeting numerous deadlines

  • Knowledgeable of the biotech, pharma, and preferably the cell therapy industry, and Supply Chain / Sourcing

  • Ability to take initiative and think critically with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment

  • Comfortable negotiating and influencing in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly fluid, matrixed global organization and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and Outlook; MS Project, Documentum, document formatting tools experience a plus
