CommonSpirit Health Director Plant Operations in SANTA MARIA, California

Overview

Marian Regional Medical Center , located in Santa Maria, CA, is nationally ranked among the top 10% in the nation for safety core measures in Cardiac Services and has the only comprehensive Cancer treatment and resource program from Los Angeles to San Francisco. In April 2012, Marian opened its doors to a brand new state-of-the-art facility which houses the latest technology to support excellent physicians and caregivers who deliver compassionate care each and every day. Marian's new hospital includes 191 beds, expanded and enhanced Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, NICU and women's services.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Directs the function and activities of plant engineering and maintenance, capital project and construction management, ground services, clinical engineering, safety and security, and organization environment of care and life safety.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of major systems and operations: boilers, HVAC, medical gas systems, mechanical-electrical systems energy management systems, code compliance and enforcement, blue print and construction documents.

  • Keeps knowledge and ensures compliance on rules, regulations, licensure, accreditation and laws applicable to hospital and department operations.

  • Consults with executives and managers on plans and programs pertaining to construction projects.

  • Assists in planning disaster, life safety, and fire safety programs. Implements the hospital safety management programs in concert with the safety and security department as required, which are designed to increase the awareness of the importance of workplace safety and reduce employee and visitor injuries

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.

  • Minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in Plant Operations/Facilities or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years management experience.
