Cedar Fair HR Assistant in Sandusky, Ohio

As an entry level Human Resources Assistant with Cedar Point, you will have opportunities to grow and learn about Human Resources in the entertainment industry through hands-on exposure to day-to-day operational responsibilities. You will be involved with providing excellent guest service to our associates and guests, assisting associates with various requests in person, over the phone or email communication, and upholding strict confidentiality.

  • Interacts with and assists individuals in an outgoing, friendly, flexible, and professional manner.

  • Provide service according to Cedar Point’s “I CARE” philosophy and Cedar Fair’s Cornerstones of safety, service, courtesy, cleanliness, and integrity.

  • Perform administrative tasks, such as mail distribution, data entry in a variety of computer systems, research inquiries of employment data following established policies and procedures. Email, copy, scan, and fax documents.

  • Foster a positive work environment by assisting HR team members as well as divisional partners with tasks and requests, as needed.

  • Take photographs, prints, sorts, and distributes associate ID cards and name badges.

  • Assist with projects, including, but not limited to, office supply inventory, personnel file reviews, employment reports, recognition programs, international social security card distribution.

  • Promote and participate in departmental and associate events and activities that promote inclusivity, diversity and community involvement.

  • Assist in all areas of Human Resources as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements including reporting all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in an office setting is preferred.

  • Ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to take initiative and maintain the company's reputation and dedication to safety, service, courtesy, cleanliness, and integrity.

  • Ability to utilize problem-solving skills, including having the ability to remain patient, poised, and alert to cope with challenging/unique situations.

  • Ability to learn and communicate all policies and procedures quickly as well as follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
