Sutter Health Central Processing Tech Lead in San Mateo, California

Position Overview:

The lead is responsible for the oversight of activities of the Sterile Processing Technician and Trainee; coordinating the training for trainees and training all staff on new equipment and processes; providing input regarding performance evaluation for SPD staff; preparing the staffing schedule; vendor relations; and acts as the liaison for all SPD customers


  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Three (3) years current Sterile Processing experience.

  • More than one (1) year recent lead or supervisory experience.

  • Sterile Processing Technician Certification.

  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and O.R. instrumentation.

  • One (1) year computer experience.

  • Ability to work independently and manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must have initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision and directions.

  • Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the duties of the position.

  • Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations.
