As the Director of Global Security, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day operations of Micron’s global physical and personnel security risk management strategy and associated programs and will serve as the focal point for this function across the organization. You will lead a global team of security professionals and will run an enterprise-wide program to safeguard the company’s critical assets – employees, facilities, operations and reputation – across the world. Additionally, you will work closely with the information security organization to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to intellectual property protection and will report to the Vice President, Chief Security Officer.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Develop and execute a strategy for the global security function in line with Micron’s footprint, risk exposure, risk tolerance, organizational requirements and business priorities as well as preferred practices, industry standards and applicable laws and regulations.
Direct global security programs through the development and oversight of a governance framework and maintain coordination with key partners to ensure global program compliance and consistent application.
Lead, coordinate and implement global security programs to protect Micron’s critical assets. Specifically:
Physical Security. Develop, maintain and audit against the company’s policies and standards for the protection of Micron facilities. Direct site security and advise site leaders in implementing policies, standards and systems. Areas covered may include perimeter security, lighting and security signage, CCTV and video management system/analytics, access controls, visitor management systems, intrusion detection alarms and guard force operations.
Travel Security. Develop and maintain Micron’s policies, processes and tools to safeguard business travelers across the global enterprise. Monitor international security issues associated with business travel, expatriates, and traveler locations. Support the implementation of on-the-ground protective measures as needed in line with destination risk. Facilitates training and awareness related to travel security risks.
Executive Protection. Maintain a strong threat assessment capability and the ability to implement tailored protection plans based upon the threat. Advise executive leadership on their protection needs and tailor the security plan to individual and particular requirements.
Event Security. Support the security of personnel and information at corporate events by conducting security advances, preparing security risk assessments and planning documents, and arranging security support at designated venues.
Workplace Violence Prevention and Response. Oversee the and implementation of employee safety programs that aid in the prevention of threats and violence in the workplace and support response in the event of an incident.
Investigations. Conduct, lead and coordinate complex and sensitive investigations regarding security threats and violations. Coordinate with law enforcement as required.
Risk Intelligence and Threat Monitoring. Lead the coordination for all security intelligence gathering requirements related to the protection of Micron’s employees, facilities, operations and reputation. Lead Micron’s regional security operation centers, ensuring they have the proper tools and resources to deliver on corporate security capabilities and expectations.
Security Training and Awareness. Develop security-related education and training materials/programs for the company and team members. Liaise with other company functions to facilitate security awareness and help inculcate a proactive security culture in the company.
Support and coordinate with Micron’s Crisis Management, Information Security, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs and team members.
Research and deploy state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques, tools and services to facilitate the effectiveness of global security programs.
Manage the global security budget and associated contracts, resources, and workforce.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal partners, including executive leadership, functional business areas, and site leadership.
Cultivate and maintain effective liaison with relevant external entities, such as government and law enforcement agencies, industry bodies, regulatory agencies and private sector counterparts.
Private sector corporate security experience is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in business, criminal justice, or related fields.
MBA degree preferred.
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred.
Key Skills and Proficiencies:
Seasoned corporate security professional with at least 10 years in leadership roles.
Familiarity with security laws and regulations in a variety of domestic and international jurisdictions.
Prior experience in security policy development, compliance activities and project management.
Experience in the semiconductor industry or other equivalent manufacturing or high-tech environment.
Experience mentoring, developing, training, and directing security teams.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other Micron groups, teams and key partners globally to implement security programs, practices and procedures across the organization.
Adaptability to Micron’s culture, pace of operations and requirements.
Willingness to be on call 24/7 to respond to company-related security incidents and to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
