WSP is currently initiating a search for a Tolling Specialist for our San Francisco, CA office. The successful candidate will join a versatile group that supports a variety of projects that apply innovative technology solutions to address transportation challenges, including tolling and managed/express lanes, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and other transportation demand management (TDM) strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support planning, design, implementation, testing and operations of toll systems as owner’s representative, with a primary focus on lane side toll systems and integration with back office
Advise toll clients on best practices and provide strategic advice
Assess and develop policies and program initiatives to support toll clients and vet impact to existing implementation and operations
Conduct technology assessments against toll clients’ programs and goals
Manage tasks, lead meetings, set priorities and deadlines, clear hurdles, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery
Prepare and update reports and technical memoranda with an ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
Engage in business development activities, including client engagement and pursuit management, to help grow toll practice
Work in a team environment and offer creative input

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited program
Ten (10) years of experience in tolling or transportation-related field
Knowledge of northern California toll and express lane facilities
Direct experience with toll and express lane project and program management
Familiarity with FHWA Systems Engineering process and Caltrans delivery process
Strong technical writing, analytical and communications skills and ability to work within a team environment
Excellent research and problem-solving skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with agencies involved with tolling and fare collection
Business development experience
