Visa Senior Manager, Global Product & Innovation Communications in San Francisco, California

The Senior Manager of Global Product & Innovation Communications will join a team of smart, driven communicators who develop the stories that shape ongoing perception of the iconic Visa brand. As Senior Manager, you will help promote Visa's innovation and technology leadership around the world, spreading the word about our new and existing products, services and partnerships. In your day-to-day, you’ll touch on trends like digital equity, e-commerce, internet of things, the future of retail, urban mobility, financial inclusion, small business product development, tokenization, fintech and fraud. As a global team member, you’ll spend a good amount of time with cross functional colleagues both here in the US and abroad, sharing information, aligning on plans and goals, and moving the communications agenda forward via strong business relationships. The candidate will: * Contribute to and project manage communications plans, taking ownership of strategy, socialization and tactical execution - as well as outcomes and reporting * Manage ongoing communication with regional communications colleagues around the world. Develop a global mindset to execute multi-national campaigns. * Create and manage a variety of collateral and materials that improves the way we communicate internally as well as externally – case studies, press releases, blog posts, opinion pieces and more. Bonus points if you are a creative process person who can help us think of things we haven’t – then execute and manage them soup to nuts. * Assist with budget tracking, opening scope of work requests, managing and reconciling purchase orders and complete timely receiving in accordance with Visa policies – be interested in learning complex internal processes and managing them (while managing up on your manager) * Collaborate with the corporate digital content team to leverage social media channels to amplify campaigns and support core media relations activities – have a digital first mindset * Assist with logistics and planning for Visa media events, whether virtually or online * Establish and continue evolving relationships with key press to cover Visa news. Help mine for new media outlet opportunities and key journalists with whom we should cultivate relationships. Basic Qualifications: * 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA) * Experience in tech a must Preferred Qualifications: * 9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA) * Financial technology/payment industry knowledge a plus * You are comfortable with being held accountable for thinking ahead, taking ownership and driving the team forward on a daily basis – speaks up, volunteers, digs in * Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills; leads by influence and example * You are comfortable speaking up, but also knows when (and how) to listen * Excellent writing and verbal communications skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills * Strong planning, organizational, problem solving skills; focused on delivering * Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, representing communications team collaboratively across a variety of key internal stakeholders, including: marketing, product, legal, government, sales and technology teams * You work well in a fast-paced environment while delivering timely, high quality work * Proactive, with ability to recognize opportunities and manage up * High-level of professional integrity and confidentiality _Work Hours:_ Varies upon the needs of the department _Travel Requirements:_ This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. _Mental/Physical Requirements:_ This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
