Facebook is seeking a dynamic leader to join the revenue controllership function supporting the dynamically evolving emerging product landscape. As the Company enters a new era of multiple product monetization (subscription, commerce, messaging), this role will help support revenue accounting and operations for our new and evolving product initiatives. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate recording and reporting of revenue for our Workplace and Business Messaging products. Having a strong accounting background of ASC 606, you will support the month end close activities for these workflows, collaborating with system implementation to automate and scale the business.In this role, you will partner closely with a large team of cross-functional business partners, engineers, and the broader finance team to develop scalable accounting and operation solutions for month-end close activities. You couple strong business acumen with your accounting background and your excellent communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization. You excel in problem-solving, leading automation projects, recommending solutions, and thinking strategically on a process level, while also being comfortable getting into the details. An independent and critical thinker, you love gleaning insights and learning from data and information and embrace complexity and changes. You are experienced in moving fast while solving problems in a scalable way.
Establish and maintain month-end close procedures for emerging products (Business Messaging, Workplace, etc.) that effectively scale as the business evolves.
Maintain and enhance existing processes and controls for newer, evolving product offerings ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal revenue recognition policies.
Support legal, sales and deal desk teams during deal negotiations.
Coordinate with sales and legal post deal negotiations to monitor significant revenue transactions impacting agreements with customers.
Partner with product engineering on testing and delivery of system solutions.
Ensure compliance with key control objectives in product specific Order to Cash (OTC) cycle.
Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as required, including design of accounting operational processes, business processes, global close efficiencies, automation activities, data analysis and management reporting.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
4+ years of accounting experience
Technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606
Experience using Microsoft Office and other online team collaboration tools
Attention to detail with an understanding of the big picture
Experienced in communicating with cross functional and internal audience with an experience distilling complex concepts and analysis into concise actionable conclusions
Demonstrated operational understanding of functional business processes, risks, and controls
Public accounting experience at “Big 4” public accounting firm
Experience working with databases and SQL across standard commercial databases or equivalent programming/scripting experience
Oracle ERP system experience
