The Global Eligibility Intern will increase the Global Eligibility team visibility, impact, and engagement within the partner network as well as within TechSoup. Projects will elevate our business practices while also providing hands on experience for someone interested in global policy and nonprofits.
This is a paid position located in the San Francisco office.
The Strategic Development Intern will complete and update the TechSoup Global Network mapping project that was started by last Summer?s intern. Through this project we are mapping grant funded work that occurs throughout the TechSoup Network to identify strategic areas for cross-network program development and fundraising opportunities. Already this project has been used in identifying key program areas that went into informing a large grant opportunity with the Dutch Government. It has been an excellent tool for partner engagement, as well as internal knowledge building.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research partner programs online
Populate Kumu visualization according to the established methodology
Update existing program content, especially based on previous feedback by partners
In collaboration with Network Team, hold partner meetings to go over content and data with Global Partners and update accordingly
Identify interesting trends across program data and information that can be used by the
Development and Network teams in identifying areas for cross-network collaboration
Microsoft Office, Google Suite
Diplomacy and teamwork, both with the U.S. team and international partners
How to effectively use the internet for research
Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Interact in a professional manner with a wide variety of people.
Ability to graciously accept feedback and incorporate into one?s work
Ability to work well with the team, as well as individually on assigned projects
Social sector, nonprofit and philanthropy knowledge preferred but not required
Research, writing, and editing skills with a desire to improve these skills throughout the internship period
Any combination of education and experience providing the skill and knowledge for successful participation and learning in the internship would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Must be actively and presently enrolled an accredited college or university at an undergraduate or graduate level; or graduated in the spring semester and applying for a post-graduation internship to gain experience.
An interest in learning about the social sector, nonprofits and philanthropy.
