Reporting to the Marketing Executive, the Marketing Director is responsible for the strategic marketing direction of the assigned line of business, including the marketing of all related products and services. This role is responsible for working directly with the line of business to create marketing plans that drive results. The Marketing Director also works closely with other functional areas to implement the approved marketing plans and ensure a thoughtful and appropriate client experience across client segments. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring deliverables are managed on-time, on-budget, and on-brief.
Marketing Plan Development and Management
Create and manage marketing plans that align with the needs of the business line (Core Banking Transformation (CBT) Platform Implementation & Client Conversion)
Revise plans as needed to ensure meets business needs
Oversee marketing budget and work with Finance to ensure the budgeting and forecasting are being accounted properly
Serve as the day-to-day owner of specific high-profile marketing programs
Business Partner Collaboration
Work with management and LOB representatives across the line of business to align business needs with Marketing deliverables
Interact with senior management by providing both marketing expertise and sound business judgment
Be familiar with Union Bank products, services, client-base, and competition, including customer experience and marketing messaging
Ideate and present innovative solutions to achieve CBT Program goals
Work closely with the Marketing Shared Services (MSS), Brand, Visual & Voice, Digital, and Marketing Strategy teams to ensure all marketing activity is executed flawlessly and aligned with Marketing standards and existing assets
Serve as the primary conduit with Compliance, Legal, & Privacy for all CBT deliverables
Work with Retail & Product teams to develop CBT Retention Programs and related teammate training and readiness programs
Provide ongoing management and mentorship of direct report marketing professionals
Work with individual team members to create annual performance plans and performance reviews
Drive a team spirit and a natural integration across customer segments/lines of business
Work closely with other senior marketing leaders to support a superior and consistent customer experience
Education and Experience
12 years of Consumer Marketing and Product Management experience, including financial services experience
Prior customer conversion experience, ideally within financial services setting
Experience in managing a team, but also contributing at an individual level
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills required
Strong, decisive leadership ability
Analytical prowess and fluency
Strong presentation skills in the presence of executive management
Flexibility to adjust in an often-changing business environment
Organized and process-oriented
Six Sigma experience a plus
