BUSINESS OVERVIEW

The Infusion Delivery business platform is accountable for the product portfolio at the intersection of MMS and MDS business units, providing users with a range of dedicated consumables used to deliver various infusion therapies through infusion pumps. As such, the platform operates in close collaboration with other MMS and MDS platforms, regions, and functions to optimize product and system performance, quality and patient safety and to deliver best possible experience to our customers.

The Associate Director is leading the achievement of key marketing objectives for the Alaris System Pump Sets portfolio including operational execution, new product development activities and all aspects of commercial excellence. The candidate is expected to drive the business globally by upgrading practice to capture the significant headroom, developing plans to grow in existing markets, acting as a marketing lead for key new product initiatives, being a liaison to regional marketing counterparts and meeting/exceeding global revenue targets.

MAIN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the total customer experience including, the financial performance of their product portfolio. Supports annual planning process to define and communicate global product development priorities and operational direction for the product solution, and influences cross-functional resources to deliver on revenue, growth, and profitability targets

  • Acts as a steward for the assigned portfolio, developing and executing product lifecycle management initiatives inclusive of product roadmaps, SKU rationalizations and other activities in alignment with instrument platforms and regional marketing teams

  • Proactively engages customers and senses market and competitive dynamic to gather key insights, translating them into potential product improvement and business development opportunities to create robust new product pipeline that meets and exceeds customer expectations

  • Supporting key innovation and sustaining projects through development and commercial processes as key member of cross functional teams. Works with teams to ensure timely execution and meeting of key deliverables. Includes working with country/region marketers. Work includes providing insights and oversight to voice of customer projects, developing pricing strategies and business cases and leading commercial launch excellence.

  • Leads (development and maintenance of) market models to identify and monitor key growth opportunities globally. Works closely with regions to update and analyze data to identify trends

  • Supports annual planning process and communicate global product development and operational direction for the product solution, and influences cross-functional resources to deliver on revenue, growth, and profitability targets

  • Continuously monitors demand/supply situation, participating in S&OP meetings and working with global and regional supply chain to ensure adequate customer service levels

  • Viewed as a subject matter expert and product advocate for all aspects of the assigned portfolio (performance, claims, etc.).

  • Participates as a marketing core team member on new product development projects, driving all aspects of Commercial Excellence to ensure product, commercial, organizational and market readiness in preparation for product launch

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in building business cases, identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, completing competitive analysis, developing pricing strategies, preparing for product launch and commercialization, and developing go to market models and strategies.

  • Proven strategic thinking capability including strong customer focus, needs identification and value proposition development. Proven analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing and business strategies and plans.

  • Demonstrated project and cross-functional team leadership skills, ability to meet commitments in a complex matric organization and environment of competing priorities. Ability to use sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities and identify ways to optimize project timelines and to mitigate project risks/delays.

  • Proven ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.

  • Bias for action, courage to drive through change and reputation for getting things done

  • Experience in identifying, recruiting, and working with Key Opinion Leaders to drive product awareness and generate strong clinical and economic evidence would be considered a plus

  • Experience with innovation process and driving innovation projects/initiatives would be preferred

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to foster understanding and acknowledgement of critical information both up and down the organization

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, ability to influence without authority, diverse cultural perspective and global mindset

  • Passion to “advance the world of health”

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Technical Discipline; MBA highly preferred

  • Min of 8 years of experience in a marketing, strategy, product management or related discipline within healthcare, medical device and/or related industry with a consistent track-record of high performance and results

  • Fluency in English, add languages will be considered as plus and high computer literacy

LOCATION

  • Due to the ongoing pandemic, there is flexibility re location initially (within US), but candidate will be expected to be based in San Diego eventually.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to 20% travel
