Data Sciences International Inc. Senior Process Engineer in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary: Leads small to mid-size projects for tester and testing production and product performance improvement, and day to day support. Provide process and product line support from initial design, to manufacturing (including some supplier interaction) and to customer. Be an active team on new product development and introduction teams, and continuous improvement teams. Provide overall product line support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Works under supervision of manager or more experienced engineers in Operations. Assigned to lead increased capacity, delivery/ process yield/ and line performance- improvement projects. Support assigned area of manufacturing process capability / automation improvements. Additionally, oversees product line return activities. Solicits technical subject matter experts as needed to triage product issues to component level and implement associated improvements. Routine engineering-oriented line and process support duties. Participates in/evaluates/ or gathers production data and customer return information, to identify critical opportunities for, and implement necessary improvements (forensics and root cause analysis). Gather and analyze data to support COPQ improvements. Support verification/validation of software as necessary. Proposes project plans and Lead implementation of approved improvement projects. Work with vendors and appropriate teams to facilitate Implementation of improvements. Issues status and information reports as needed. Works with appropriate personnel to prioritize efforts. Facilitates new processes and product introduction by working on design teams to define requirements and ensure product meets customer and market expectations. Assist with risk management to ensure new product designs are robust and manufacturing processes are capable. Develops or modifies test and custom product calibration equipment using tools such as Labview. Designs, develops, and implements basic manufacturing equipment, fixturing and tooling. Verify/validate/qualify changes/improvements. Supports or leads verification / validation efforts. Ensures Production documentation is complete and accurate. Monitors and reports on product return triage, and improvement actions Ensure compliance of DSI documents, records, systems, and products.
