The Boeing Company Lead Electrical Engineer in Saint Charles, Missouri
Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking Lead Electrical Engineer (Level 4) with experience in Radio Frequency and Microwave Systems to join the Weapons Avionics team located in St. Charles, MO . The team is seeking a motivated individual to design, develop, and test antennas, transmitters, receivers, and RF systems for weapons.
Design, development, and test of prototype antennas, transmitters, receivers, and systems such as GPS, data link, flight termination, telemetry, and radar transponders for weapons and missile systems
Development of trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component and system performance and to optimize designs around complex requirements.
Develop and validate requirements for RF & microwave systems and antennas. Develop architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms.
Define and conduct critical validation tests to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Develop subsystem performance specifications and supplier statements of work. Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from product definition, development, testing, and manufacturing to customer end-use.
Support project management by developing work statements, budgets, schedules and other required inputs, and conducting appropriate reviews.
Generate major sections of proposals to support development of new business.
Work under minimal direction.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)
Bachelors of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
7+ years’ of experience of RF microwave theory and the ability to define requirements, develop new technology, and develop architectures and designs for RF microwave systems.
7+ years’ of experience of microwave measurement techniques. Experience in the qualification and environmental testing of RF components and systems.
Ability to perform link margin analyses using predicted and measured antenna gain patterns
Compact range or far-field antenna testing experience highly desired.
Weapons experience highly desired, but not required
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
