Sierra Health Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.   JOB TITLE: Senior Program Associate POSITION SUMMARY The Sierra Health Foundation Senior Program Associate will be based out of the Sacramento office and will provide program support to Sierra Health Foundation. Overall responsibility includes supporting the assigned program, other programs, and departments in the areas of program research, program development, implementation and administrative support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Support * Support the long-term vision and strategic planning of programs alongside Director of Economic Development. * Execute program strategies at the direction of the assigned Director of Economic Development by coordinating and communicating with program partners, grantees and consultants, developing program materials and other assigned tasks. * Support the Director of Economic Development in managing the day-to-day operations and coordination of the program. * Coordinate and serve as the point person for the planning and logistics for program events, webinars and meetings, both on- and off-site. This includes contributing to the overall design of events, scheduling, coordinating with the conferencing department, monitoring the planning process and acting as point person at designated events. * Develop and prepare event materials including PowerPoint presentations, handouts, nametags, registration materials and other document production, under the supervision of the assigned Director of Economic Development. * Provide Director of Economic Development with administrative support during the creation, implementation, and management of programs. * Support the Director of Economic Development to develop, strengthen and implement the program’s internal processes to better serve the diverse community partners and the goals of the regional and program portfolios. * Provide and coordinate technical assistance to the diverse program partners, community partners and grantees that is responsive to demonstrated needs. This includes convening, coordinating and leading workshops and roundtable discussions informed by community partner input. * Facilitate small group meetings related to assigned programs. * Under the direction of the Director of Economic Development, assist with monitoring program-related expenses and program budgets, including funder budgets. * Conduct basic research, such as research on funding opportunities and policy issues to inform program design and enhancements. Contract and Grant Support * Coordinate with the Program and Administration Departments in the development of contracts and grant agreements to accomplish program strategies. Review grant agreements and contracts for specifications and approval by the Director of Economic Development. Act as a liaison with the Administration Department in the coordination and monitoring of grant agreements, grants deliverables due, contracts and other third-party agreements that require the Director of Economic Development, Director, and or Vice President of Programs and Partnerships’ review and approval. * Assist with contract-monitoring process, which includes ensuring deliverables are submitted on time with appropriate content that is consistent with contract language, initiating approval of deliverables by Director of Economic Development, and monitoring invoicing. Monitor the master file of contractors, ensuring working files are integrated, correspondence, reports and payment documents are filed, essential documents scanned, and the database is updated. * Manage and coordinate development and response to requests for proposals under the supervision of the Director of Economic Development. Assist with the development of the criteria, questions, and final application. Communicate with applicants and grantees throughout the application process, as necessary. * Participate in the grant application review process. This position reviews grant applications, edits application project descriptions for input into the grant making database, prepares reports for the determination meeting, participates in determination meetings with Program team members and other tasks as necessary. * Assist with the grant-monitoring process, which includes evaluation of grantee progress reports, providing technical assistance to grantees on grant- or award-related matters and ensuring timely response to monitoring issues. Monitor the master file of each assigned grant and award, ensuring working files are integrated, correspondence, reports and payment documents are filed, essential documents scanned, and the database is updated. Organizational Support * Work with the Director of Economic Development to actively track and summarize state and local policy issues that may impact program content areas. * Conduct research, such as research on funding opportunities and policy issues to inform program design, implementation, and enhancements. * Under supervision of the Director of Economic Development, work closely with the Evaluation Department to implement activities consistent with program evaluation plans. * Assist with monitoring program-related expenses and program budgets, including third party budgets. * Assist as a liaison with the Communications Department and contribute content for newsletter, publication and video development, and other communications-related needs. This position also will contribute to the development and implementation of a social media strategy to support dissemination of information related to assigned programs. * Actively participate as a member of the Program team, participate in Foundation meetings, attend team meetings, and collaborate with team members. * Represent the foundation at community and philanthropic activities and events. * Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience * A Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent and three to five years of experience in project coordination, preferably experience with nonprofit organizations, community based or philanthropic organizations, or public institutions. * Experience in community organizing and coalition-building. * Experience implementing and/or overseeing systems change and policy advocacy work. * Familiarity with public health, public policy, experience with placed-based and/or health equity work is desirable. * Ability to learn and use cloud-based business and ERP systems. Language Skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to read, analyze and interpret studies, proposals, reports, journals, financial and database reports, grant agreements, contracts and memos. * Ability to compose business correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to grantees, employees of the organization and others. * Ability to facilitate small group meetings. * Bilingual skills are desirable. Computer Skills Must be proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, database software, and internet use. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a current valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Foundation’s insurance policy. Must have a reliable vehicle to perform various in-field tasks. Retirement benefits are provided through our 401(k) which includes employee matching. Details of these programs will be shared during the hiring process. Compensation begins at $68,000.00 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience.
