Cisco Resiliency Business Strategy and Programs Lead in RTP, North Carolina
What You'll Do
Help build an interlocking set of programs around Sustainability, Circular Economy, Security, Risk, and Resiliency, with Resiliency at the center of what you do. Cisco recognizes that all of these programs are connected- and are critical to the effective functioning of the supply chain. We seek to become one of the most resilient supply chains in the world. It’s a priority for us. You can help us lead Cisco’s supply chain into the future.
This job is to bring together all of the functions in this domain, build a consistent strategy, and then operationalize that strategy to define programs, outcomes, needs, funding, scope and timing. You will work with four key functions in the department: Sustainability, Circular Economy, Security, and Risk/Resiliency to define a coordinated program set. You’ll also work with broader supply chain functions and corporate functions to ensure that our work brings together all the threads of activity. This includes manufacturing, quality, planning, procurement, product operations, corporate risk, and more.
Not only will you work to build a coordinated set of strategies, you’ll be constantly looking at the future to bring in new methodologies, integrate them into what Cisco does, and make them part of the way of working. This includes using new thinking and new tools to better execute our central mission of keeping the global supply chain safe, secure, and sustainable. We’re looking for thought leadership and transformation skills to continue to be at the edge of the future for our portfolio of practices. Understanding systems, data, analytics, and more are key to the success of our future strategies.
The future can only be built on a consistent foundation, though, so part of the job involves today’s work—taking a look at our existing processes across multiple departments, standardizing, simplifying, and making things make sense. So the ideal candidate will not only have a bent for innovation and the future, but also for process improvement and simplification of existing systems.
Of course, any time we talk about large scale transformation, it means programs and budgets… and the job has a lot of that. Making the future happen often means being in the gears of the machine: reporting on budgets spend, fighting for funds, making the case for innovations that we need, aligning partners, change management, and more.
Who You'll Work With
The job is a matrix management job with a lot of scope and an extended team, but no direct team. Influencing skills are critical. You’ll be working directly for a department head in Supply Chain who has responsibilities for Risk, Resiliency, Security (including cybersecurity), Sustainability, and Circular Economy. It’s a great team of people who are trying to change the world. Your extended team is the entire Supply Chain and beyond, and you will be helping to influence at the SVP level, primarily in Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering.
Cisco recognizes the important role that supply chain plays in a comprehensive resiliency, security, and sustainability strategy. In this highly influential role, you will apply your critical thinking to own the effective implementation of strategy and programs in those areas, as well as develop new approaches.
Who You Are
We believe in diversity at Cisco. This includes diverse backgrounds. Some of the most effective teams have been composed of members from non-traditional functions. While we generally prefer people with Supply Chain expertise, we are willing to consider other fields and backgrounds, if you can show us demonstrated results in your current area. The original Macintosh team had engineers, but also musicians and artists, and they changed the world. We celebrate diversity and we’re open to that. You are knowledgeable about data and systems - ready to design policies and processes and implement the industry best! You should be a life-long learner and your continuous learning in our areas will keep our team abreast of new capabilities and technologies impacting our industry. You are forward-thinking, skilled, want to make a difference, and are the best of the best.

We Are Cisco
#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Here’s how we do it:
We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re "old" (30 years strong!) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do - you can’t put us in a box!
But "Digital Transformation" is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it).
Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, we give our egos a break and we give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA). We take accountability, we take bold steps, and we take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a commitment to equality for all, there is no moving forward.
So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Are you a divergent problem solver? Different personality type? Look different? Embracing difference is one of Cisco’s core values; we want to talk to you.
Think about a career at Cisco. We are consistently ranked as one of the most sustainable companies and one of the best places to work in the world. Join us.
