div bspanGeneral Summary:/span/bspan/spanspan /spanspanThe Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) uses ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary work-ups forbrpatients of the Beaumont Eye Institute physicians.span /spanCoordinates patient appointments with BEIbrclerical staff and provides clinical support for the Eye Clinic.span /spanOversees smooth running of Clinic Servicesbrand the Low Vision department./spanspan /spanbspanEssential Duties:/span/bspan /spanspanspan*span /span/span/spanspanObtains Medical/Ophthalmological history from each patient/spanspan/spanul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanPerforms ophthalmic and ocular measurements (including retinoscopy and refractometry)/spanspan/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanAssists physicians with minor surgical procedures, Medical Lasers and Refractive surgery/spanspan/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanPerforms diagnostic procedures, visual fields, Ultrasounds, Topography, IOL master (lenstar), wavescans and color vision testing./spanspan/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanProvides instruction to patient and family members/spanspan/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanMonitors exam rooms, equipment and supplies, order as needed Maintains Ophthalmic equipment/spanspan/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanPlans and coordinates maintenance in collaboration with Lead Tech and Medical staff/spanspan/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanAssist with Surgical Coordinating between physicians and surgical centers as well as Attending staff privatebroffice./spanspan/span/li/ulbspanStandard Qualifications: /span/bspan/spanspan /spanul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanEducation/ Training: High School Diploma/span/li/ulspan /spanul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanWork Experience :6-18 months experience as COT preferred/span/li/ulspan /spanul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanCertification, Licensure, Registration: JCAHPO Certification required/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanOther Qualifications: Technical Surgical Skills /span/li/ulspan /spanul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanCertified refractive surgical LASIK assistant/span/li/ulspan /spanul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanSurgical Boarding/spanspan/span/li/ulspanspanbspan /span/b div /div /divBR/Beaumont Health is an equal opportunity employer.
