Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .
The qualified applicant will support the Command and Launch Team. This will include development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment hardware and systems for each weapon system facility. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers.
• Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and associated ground and test equipment.
• Design of components/systems, and preliminary/sizing analysis for both stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures.
• Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a STEM discipline and 5 years of relevant experience, 3 years with a Master's Degree; 0 Years with PhD
Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation within past 5 years
Current or active Top Secret/SCI clearance
Experience with ICBM programs
Experience with NX or other CAD software
Possess strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
