In Round Rock, Texas, Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital and ER is a critical care hospital with advanced specialty care services.

This position can be Onsite or Partially Remote

Hours Full Time Day Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00pm

The RN Bariatric Coordinator will work closely with the Bariatric Program for both the Ascension Seton Williamson and Ascension Seton Hays sites.

What You Will Do

The bariatric coordinator oversees and helps organize the clinical and administrative activities of the bariatric surgery program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversees program, making recommendations and acting as a resource for all nursing staff related to patient care and clinical standards, policies and procedures. Develops and documents care plans and therapy programs.

  • Oversee and ensure plan of care therapy program is implemented as indicated. Ensure necessary resources and/or equipment is obtained as ordered.

  • May supervise and direct nursing staff.

  • Coordinate, assemble, and maintain documentation as required.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

Bariatric RN experience - Highly Preferred

*Experience with EMR is Prefered

College degree preferredTwo (2) years experience in medical records and/or clinical chart review/abstraction preferredDatabase data entry and/or management experience preferred.Computer and internet experience required. Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred.Ability to work independently with strong decision making skills.Good organization habits with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, and physician’s office personnel.Basic knowledge of Quality Improvement ideology.*Teamwork oriented with excellent customer-service skills.
