Description Job Responsibilities: Builds and maintains rapport with residents Medication administration and audits Perform Urinalysis test and breathalyzer Defuses disruptive behavior by verbal interventions. Informs and explains RRC rules to residents. Monitors residents, watching closely for unusual behavior, improper conduct or signs of conflict. Monitors visits between residents and personal visitors. Searches residents, by pat method, to detect and confiscate contraband or unapproved items. Searches resident living quarters, recreational areas, visiting areas and other areas in buildings or on the grounds for contraband and unapproved items. Conducts security checks of the facility. Communicates with other staff and Case Manager to inform about resident behaviors, incidents and/or to request assistance. Performs head counts to visually ensure the presence of all residents. Checks IDs to ensure only authorized persons enter or leave the facility. Processes new admissions and discharges. Reads and writes narrative reports describing events that have happened, such as confidential reports, incident reports, disciplinary reports, special observation reports, etc. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to pass Federal background check Driving records may not contain more than two (2) moving violations and/or suspensions, withdrawals or revocations within the past three (3) years. Candidates may not have any of the following convictions within the past ten (10) years: o DWI/DUI o Careless or Reckless Driving o Inattentive Driving o Open Bottle o Leaving the scene of an accident o Committing a felony while operating a motor vehicle o Refusing to comply with implied consent o Violating state or local law including parking violations Preferred: Male applicants encouraged to apply Experience in Corrections and or Social Services Coursework in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement Available Shifts: Full-time: M-F 0000-0800 (3rd shift) Part-time: Saturday-Sunday: 0800-1600 (1st shift) Saturday-Sunday: 1400-2200, 1500-2300, 1600-0000 (2nd shift) Saturday-Sunday: 2200-0600, 2300-0700, 0000-0800 (3rd shift) On-Call: any open shifts Qualifications Behaviors Team Player - Works well as a member of a group Education High School (required) Experience 1 - 2 years: Experience in Corrections and/or Law Enforcement (preferred) Skills Criminal Justice (preferred) The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
