Become a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Claims Department at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll work with the Senior Manager of Legal Support with heavy text processing and other administrative tasks to provide support to the Claims Organization and Management team.As a Senior Administrative Assistant, collaborating heavily with department staff, answering high-volume calls, preparing reports and correspondence, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Typing, proofreading, and editing reports, letters, and documents to ensure complete accuracy.

  • Completing assignments with time-sensitive deadlines, effectively managing work under high pressure situations, and making workflow adjustments to meet changing conditions and priorities.

  • Handling confidential and non-routine information and facilitating communication between appropriate departments.

  • Answering phone calls daily and prioritizing assignments while assisting the team on time sensitive projects.

  • Processing payments to SCE claimants.

  • Processing Small Claims actions for and against the company.

  • Providing excellent customer service to management and the claims team.

  • Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Essentials…

  • Four or more years of experience performing administrative and secretarial duties.

  • Experience with MS Microsoft Suites.

The Preferred…

  • Experience handling high-volume customer calls

  • Experience supporting multiple individuals and management team.

  • Strong ownership, positive attitude and self-motivation, strong accountability.

  • Familiarity with Dragon Software.

  • Experience working in a multi-tasking environment, taking direction from multiple staff with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong language and grammar; ability to proofread and correct reports/correspondence.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, interact effectively and collaboratively with clients, peers, management, and other work units both on the phone and in person. Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate great teamwork.

  • Ability to maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
